Nevada State Fair fundraiser to support programs for rural Nevada 4H and FFA youth

Reno, NV – 1,100 LBS OF FRESH, delicious crab is expected to satisfy the crowd at the 9th annual Nevada State Fair’s “Carnival of Crab” fundraiser on Wednesday, February 13 at 5:30 p.m. in the Exhibit Hall at the Reno Livestock Event Center. The all-you-can-eat benefit helps support programs and competitions at the fair for over 700 rural Nevada children ages 8-19 involved in 4-H and FFA. Tickets are $50 per person, call 688-5767 or visit www.NVstatefair.com.

“The money raised helps keep admission costs down, assists with administrative costs, underwrites entertainment and grounds acts, and helps fund 4-H and FFA activities. It’s also a good night to think about becoming a volunteer or member of the Nevada State Fair. With the positive changes we are making, we are charting a new course to success - we need volunteers to help us get there,” said Sarah Chvilicek, President, Board of Directors.

“The fair receives no state or government funding, and this is the only fundraiser that benefits the fair. The success of the fair is dependent upon community support,” said Dr. Greg “Lightning” Williams, sponsor chairman. Seating is limited for this event, so be sure to get your tickets early.

Reserved tables for eight are available for $500 and include free parking, preferred seating, signage, cocktail vouchers, as well as 8- 2008 Nevada State Fair tickets. The “Carousel of Honor” table for $800 includes the above plus VIP amenities and service at your table. The purchase of your dinner ticket will help ensure the Fair’s continued success. Nevada National Guard will be tending bar.

In addition to unlimited amounts of food the benefit offers a no-host bar, silent auction and continuous live entertainment. Dr. Greg "Lightning" Williams of Lighting Auctions will lead the live auction. Enter the grand prize raffle for a 10-seat VIP box which includes drink service for the 2008 Reno Rodeo Championship Finals.

The Nevada State Fair is a 501 [c]3 non-profit corporation. A portion of the ticket price may be tax deductible. Consult your accountant. Ticket information: log on to www.nvstatefair.com, or call NV State Fair office at (775) 688-5767 to reserve your tickets. Tickets are also available at the Nevada State Fair office, 1350 A North Wells Avenue and Lightning Auctions, 870 S. Rock, Sparks.

Mark your calendars! The 134th Nevada State Fair will be held August 20 – 24, 2008.
